How to help your relatives manage their bank accounts with LuxTrust Mobile?

With the replacement of the physical Token by the LuxTrust Mobile application, borrowing the Token from your parents or any other person to make their payments or bank transactions is no longer possible. It is simply not legal. Using someone else's Token, even with their consent, is comparable to borrowing an identity card, which is strictly forbidden. Payments can still be made, but in a more secure and legal way. We give you some advice on how to do this in this article.

2 rules to safely manage someone else's bank accounts

1. Never borrow someone else's Token, even a family member's.

Fraud and cyber-attacks are becoming increasingly common. The safest way to protect the bank account(s) of your parents or other relatives is to never borrow their Token, even if they give you permission to do so. If you wish to help them carry out banking transactions, they must give you power of attorney over their bank account.

2. Request power of attorney over the account.

To act legally and in complete security, ask your loved ones to give you power of attorney over their accounts. This will allow you to access their account as their representative via your own S-Net and LuxTrust Mobile, and to make the necessary payments on their behalf in complete legality. This solution is transparent and secure for you and for them.

Who can give a power of attorney?

To be a representative, you must have reached the age of majority. 

A person under guardianship or conservatorship is not authorised to give power of attorney and cannot be a representative.

Important: The person who has given power of attorney over his or her accounts may revoke it at any time by simple request.
